বাংলাদেশ একটি নদীমাতৃক দেশ। এখানে অনেক ছোট-বড় নদী জালের মতো ছড়িয়ে আছে যেমন পদ্মা, মেঘনা এবং যমুনা ।
আমাদের দেশের অধিকাংশ নদী হিমালয় থেকে উৎপত্তি হয়েছে এবং বঙ্গোপসাগরে পতিত হয়েছে।
কিছু নদী শক্তির উৎস হিসেবে কাজ করছে যেমন- কর্ণফুলি জলবিদ্যুৎ কেন্দ্র আমাদের বিদ্যুৎ সমস্যা সমাধানে সহায়তা করছে। বাংলাদেশের নদীসমূহ দেশের উন্নতি এবং অগ্রযাত্রায় সহায়তা করছে।

Most of the rivers of our country rise from the Himalayas and fall into the Bay of Bengal. Some rivers are the source of energy. Such as Karnafuli hydroelectric power station is helping us to solve our electricity problem.
The rivers of Bangladesh are helping in the development and progress of the country.
