2021-04-05: Expiry of PPA of Summit Narayanganj Power Plant Unit 1


SUMITPOWER: Reference to the news disseminated by CSE on today i.e. 05.04.2021, it was observed from the letter of Bangladesh Power Development Board (which is provided by the company) that Summit Narayanganj Power Plant Unit 1 (Madanganj102 MW) of Summit Power Limited is in complete shutdown condition from April 01, 2021.

2021-04-05: Expiry of PPA of Summit Narayanganj Power Plant Unit 1


SUMITPOWER: Summit Power Limited has informed that Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) of Summit Narayanganj Power Plant Unit 1 of Summit Power Limited has expired on 31 March 2021. The Company has informed that they have already applied for extension of the project for another 5 (five) years' term. The company has also informed that The Power Development Board of Bangladesh has filed a petition to the Appellate division of Supreme court of Bangladesh and the Court has ordered that ''The contract between the parties shall be deemed to have been extended till all litigations are over''

CSE NEWS: All concerned are hereby informed that considering the PANDEMIC OUTBREAK of CORONAVIRUS, CSE has decided to shorten Trading time i.e. from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM instead of the regular trading hours from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM with effect from April 05, 2021 and continue till further decision.

But it is a matter of concern that a portion of these investors without having proper, timely and detail knowledge and reviewing/analyzing the information of the different aspects of the capital market are being attracted in investing on the basis of rumor, hearsay and different comments from different quarters, which may make their hard earned capital risky, as a result, it will not only hamper the confidence of these investors but may also create hindrance of the continuity and firm growth of the capital market.
